Massachusetts Governor, Senate President, Speaker of the House, Leaders of Legislation, Medicine and Advocacy Join Forces to Lead the Nation in Ending Prostate Cancer as a Public Health Crisis and Leading Disparity

State House Highlights Massachusetts Model of National Leadership in Public Awareness, Education and Research
BOSTON, MA, April 12, 2018— AdMeTech Foundation will convene Governor Charlie Baker, Senate President Harriette Chandler, Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo, leaders of legislation and Black and Latino Caucus, medicine, advocacy and community organizations for the 10th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day at the State House. This annual event has been critical in setting up a historic precedent by recognizing prostate cancer as a public health priority and a leading health disparity in Black, Hispanic and Latino men.
10th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day will honor ten-year service of Representative Stephen Kulik, a Prostate Cancer Survivor, as a Chair of this event and a key state’s champion in the fight against prostate cancer.
At the event, emerging trends in prostate cancer clinical care and research will be discussed by leaders of medicine. Cutting-edge advances in screening, diagnosis and treatment will be described by the world-leading medical experts, and prostate cancer crisis in men with African, Hispanic and Latino heritage will be highlighted by the community leaders.
AdMeTech Foundation organized this event in cooperation with Prostate Cancer Action Council, including American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Atlantic Union College, Center for Elimination of Health and Social Inequities and Disparities, Massachusetts Prostate Cancer Coalition, Men of Color Health Awareness, and New England Area Conference of NAACP. Sponsors include Genomic Health, Koelis and Sotio.
