October 2015: AdMeTech brought together leaders of medicine, advocacy, grassroots and industry to kick off our 2016 campaign and expand our public and private partnerships in order to realize our mission: To create a model of national leadership in bringing cutting-edge advances in patient care to everyone, with a primary focus on men at high risk. Our goal is to make Massachusetts a champion in ending health disparities.

September 2015: AdMeTech hosted a prostate cancer workshop at the NEAC NAACP’s Annual Meeting. We are deeply grateful to NEAC NAACP’s President Juan Cofield and Ms. Denella Clark for this opportunity and to Dr. Jason Efstathiou, Director of Genitourinary Radiation Oncology at Mass General Hospital and his colleagues for joining us. Leaders of the NEAC NAACP invited AdMeTech to work with the local branches, located across the state, to bring education and awareness to Black communities, which are impacted by this disease disproportionately.

September 2015: Along with Senior Pastor Dr. Roberto Miranda and his outstanding staff, we held an awareness event for over 1,000 members of Boston’s Hispanic community. US Senator Elizabeth Warren, Chair of Health Care Finance Committee Representative Jeffrey Sanchez, Boston HHS Chief Felix Arroyo, Boston City Councilor Tito Jackson, and WHDH TV/El Mundo’s Alberto Vassallo, III joined us. With support of Dr. Adam Feldman, Director of Combined Harvard Urologic Oncology Fellowship, and his colleagues, we launched a new awareness model, where an educational plenary session was integrated with individual, family and group counseling.

September 2015: We held our first Twitter Town Hall as an alternative for a “prostate health helpline”. Dr. Mitchell Sokoloff, Chief of Urology Service, University of Massachusetts Medical School, and state legislative leaders supported this effort.

May 2015: Along with MOSAIC, Barbershop Health Network, Senate Majority Leader Harriett Chandler and Senator Michael Moore, AdMeTech supported the “Saving our Men Symposium” at the Worcester YMCA to empower men of color to take charge of their prostate health.

May 2015: AdMeTech helped organize and moderated the Closing Panel for the MPCC’s 18th Annual Symposium, titled “Screening: Emerging Data and Guidelines.” Leading physicians from the nation’s top cancer hospitals discussed novel, groundbreaking approaches to improved screening and early detection.

April 2015: On April 16, we held our 7th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day. Governor Charlie Baker, Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino, Boston Celtics’ Cedric Maxwell, Marathon Legend Bill Rogers, WCVB/ABC TV’s Karen Holmes Ward, and other key state leaders recognized prostate cancer as a public health priority, a central issue in men’s health, and a major health disparity.

March 2015: Our Third Annual VIP Breakfast brought together House Speaker Robert Deleo, Senate President Stanley Rosenberg, Dr. Abam Kibel, Chief of Urology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana Farber, and other key leaders of legislation, medicine, advocacy and education to discuss emerging advances in prostate cancer care and their transfer to patients.

September 2013: AdMeTech held its 5th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day at the Massachusetts State House. Governor Deval Patrick, Senate President, Speaker of the House and leaders of the Boston City Council issued formal commendations to AdMeTech for its work in prostate cancer education, awareness and research.

June 2012: AdMeTech held the Fourth Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day at the Massachusetts State House, and led a petition to US Congress to support the Senator Boxer/Rep. Cummings $650 million PRIME Act and Senator Kerry’s Prostate Cancer Resolution. The event participants and the leading state legislators signed this petition.
