Experts to Detail Latest Cutting-Edge Information on Prostate Cancer Detection
At Thursday’s 8th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day:
Masssachusetts Governor, Elected Officials, Prostate Cancer Experts, Advocates to Come Together at State House Event
BOSTON, MA, March 28, 2015— AdMeTech Foundation will detail new, cutting-edge information about prostate cancer screening at the 8th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day on Thursday at the State House.
Details will be outlined from experts who have been meeting for several months as a multi-disciplinary expert panel, including researchers in clinical care, health disparities, epidemiology and public health. The experts have developed a consensus on educational messaging for men, with primary focus on individuals at high-risk of prostate cancer and on reducing health disparities. The information will be publicly discussed for the first time at the State House event set for 10 a.m Thursday, March 31.
AdMeTech Foundation’s 8th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day will bring together Governor Charlie Baker, Senate President Stanley Rosenberg, Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo, and other elected officials and advocates. Prostate Cancer Awareness Day is an integral part of AdMeTech’s goal to create a Massachusetts model of national leadership in prostate cancer awareness by bringing cutting-edge advances in prostate cancer early detection and treatment from Massachusetts world-leading hospitals to every man.
Also at the event, AdMeTech Foundation will facilitate group education and individual and family counseling on screening, diagnosis, and treatment on a first come, first served basis during Prostate Cancer Awareness Day. The complimentary education and counseling follows an expert panel on prostate cancer that includes professionals from Carney Hospital, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Boston University School of Public Health, Boston University School of Medicine and University of Massachusetts School of Medicine.
AdMeTech Foundation organized this event in cooperation with American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Massachusetts Prostate Cancer Coalition, Men of Color Health Awareness and New England Area Conference of NAACP.
